I wrote this letter to my daughters with the hope that they can understand, when they're older, why my wife and I chose not to raise them in the LDS (Mormon) church. This comes from a place of caring and love for my girls. I want them to grow up knowing that they can do anything they set their minds to, while becoming caring and loving people.

I want to raise them knowing that their opinion matters. Their voice matters. That they are capable of being fully independent without relying on a man's or an organization's permission. With this in mind, I have come to the conclusion that the Mormon Church is not an environment where they can fully thrive.
